The Storage Bunker Self Storage Facilities are dedicated to providing you with the best in customer service. Below are the answers to many of the most common questions. If your questions are not answered here, please feel free to contact either of our locations and speak to one of our Self Storage Professionals.

How do I reserve a unit?
You can either reserve a unit online on our website, or you can call our office directly if you prefer. We require a credit card to make a reservation and to secure a unit. You may continue to pay monthly with a credit card, or you may pay by check or cash if payment is received prior to the 1st of the month.

How long do I have to sign up for?
We offer month to month self storage unit leases, meaning no long term contracts and no commitment.

Do I need insurance?
You may carry your own insurance (check your homeowner's or renter's policy to see if you are already covered) or you may use a company that specializes in self-storage facility property insurance-Bader Company.

Do you give me a key?
You provide your own lock and key, so that you are the only one with access to your storage unit. You may purchase a high quality lock at our storage office. Our storage units are individually alarmed for your security, and we provide state of the art keypad access to enter our warehouse.

When can I get to my belongings?
The Storage Bunker in Charlestown, MA:

  • Warehouse access hours are from 6:00 am - 9:00 pm, 7 days a week
  • Office hours are from 8:30 am- 5:30 pm M-F, 8:30-4:00 pm on Saturday
  • Our office is closed on Sundays


The Storage Bunker in Medford, MA:

  • Our warehouse access hours are 5:00 am -11 pm, 7 days a week
  • Our office hours are 9:00 am – 4:00 pm M-F
  • Saturday hours are by appointment
  • Our office is closed on Sundays


How much notice to must be given when I move out?
We require a 10 day written notice to move out. Full details on the vacating policy will be provided for you at the time of move-in.

How can I make a payment?
Our website allows online management of your account, including the convenience of online payment options. We accept all major credit cards, and offer convenient auto billing.

What sizes do you have and how much do they cost?
We have a wide variety of self storage unit sizes to meet your needs at both of our locations. Sizes range from 5x5 thru 20 x 40 at our Charlestown, MA location and 5 x 5 thru 30 x65 at our Medford, MA location. Pricing information is available by calling our office, or by clicking on “Reserve” in
our unit size tab.

How do I calculate how much storage space to rent?
Our website offers help in calculating your self storage unit size based on what you will be storing. You can also speak with one of our onsite managers to get help with choosing a size.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept major credit/debit cards, checks, and cash.

Do you sell Locks, Packing and Moving supplies?
Yes, both of our locations have a retail area with assorted boxes, packing supplies, and locks.

What kind of documentation do I need to rent a storage unit?
A valid driver's license or federal ID with picture is required along with a credit card to lease a unit.

Are there certain things that I cannot store?
Yes, items include, but are not limited to; combustible dust agents, explosive gases, propane, gasoline, gasoline fueled items that have not been drained, opened perishable food items, flammable liquids, flammable and combustible solids, poisonous, corrosive or fume hazard substances, or any other item prohibited by law or ordinance or by any insurance carrier insuring the premises.

How long will it take to complete my transaction on move-in day?
The entire move-in process should take fewer than 15 minutes. Please keep in mind that this time could vary depending on whether there are other customers ahead of you when you arrive. Mornings are usually the slowest period of the day, while afternoons are busier. To expedite the move-in process, you may call us to make an appointment.
